Catriona has a wonderful speaking and broadcasting career. She gets the chance to meet and speak to a variety of groups all over Canada. It is so rewarding for her to share her story especially to young aspiring athletes. She hopes that she can continue to inspire anyone to reach their goals. Her television broadcasting career continues to grow and while she still loves to cover the speed skating events, she has been fortunate to also get an opportunity to work on other sports and Co-host CBC’s primetime show Countdown to Beijing.
Catriona was a part of the Vancouver Olympic 2010 bid team and then spent three years on their Board of Directors. She’s a Board member of CODA (Calgary Olympic Development Association) and the Canadian Sport Centre Calgary. Charity and community involvement is very important to Catriona and she is associated with Right to Play as an Athlete Ambassador, Spokesperson for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Canada, the Saskatoon Foundation, the Lakefield Oval project, and the Children’s Health Foundation of Saskatchewan to name a few. Another incredible opportunity was her visit to the Canadian troops in Afghanistan to show them Canada is very proud of their peace-keeping efforts. And she has two beautiful children, Greta and Easton, who remind her each day how lucky we are and to treasure family and friends. Today Catriona is fortunate to follow her passion of speaking, broadcasting, charity and community projects and to continue to explore new paths.
